San Valley Landscape Park (Park Krajobrazowy Doliny Sanu) is a protected area located in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship of southeastern Poland that encompasses a significant stretch of the San River valley and its surrounding landscape. Established to preserve the natural river corridor and its adjoining ecosystems, the park covers a variety of habitats including floodplain meadows, mixed deciduous and coniferous forests, peat bogs, and wetlands. The San River, one of Poland's major river systems, meanders through the area creating striking landscapes and supporting high ecological value. The park hosts diverse flora and fauna, including rare and protected species such as the European otter and white stork. It also provides vital breeding grounds for many migratory birds. The cultural history of the region integrates traditional Polish rural landscapes with pockets of archaeological sites and remnants of historic villages, reflecting centuries of human interaction with the environment. Visitors to the park can enjoy activities such as hiking on multiple marked trails, bird watching, kayaking and canoeing on the San River, and seasonal fishing. Well-maintained observation points and educational paths invite nature lovers and families to explore the ecological richness of the valley. The park’s gentle terrain and abundant water bodies offer accessible recreation for a wide range of skill levels. Its close proximity to local towns makes it an appealing destination for weekend trips and longer nature escapes.
